After retiring from the Air Force in 1997, I have attempted to provide the best home health physical therapy in the Manatee/Sarasota area for 12 years. My personal focus is in stroke rehabilitation. Both of my parents suffered strokes. It is a devastating loss of yourself that cannot be fully recovered and a very difficult area for rehabilitation since it is a 24 hour a day process for the best outcomes. I am trying to tackle this problem with a concept of adult day care in concurrence with improved primary care giver training and improved set up of the home environment. This is a task for which I will probably be in the learning stage for the rest of my career.

Home Health services are often recommended by your MD after a brief hospital stay, many types of surgery, when coming home from a rehabilitation center, or sometimes, just when you are beginning to have increased problems with safe mobility. Homebound services are ususally covered by medicare under the guidance of your home health agency. We will be contracting through several such agencies. CALL FOR PRESENT AGENCIES OR REQUEST US THRU YOUR AGENCY OF CHOICE-We would be happy to work with them.
Our outpatient rehab is covered through medicare part B. It is appropriate for certain patients after being released from the home health agency.
In home rehab offers many benefits you as a patient.
1) In-home care is more functional-you find out if you can do what you need to do.
2) This option is ideal for patients who don't drive or find it difficult to go to a clinic. It's often more convenient for the patient not to have to drive to an appointment. Here in Florida, one less time on the busy roads could easily add that day to your life.
3) We want seniors safe in their own environment-home treatment often discovers problem areas in the home where a senior is at risk.
